What games does HFA remind everyone of?

Myself, I think of Legend of Mana smooshed with Castlevania:  Fantastical, mildly cartoonish enemies in a wide variety of lush and vibrant landscapes that send the protagonist questing high and low for bosses and loot, slinging spells and whips, all while you're sure there was some sort of storyline you were supposed to be following...  But wait, is that a secret area?!

Anyhow, that's what it reminds me of, how about you?

You pretty much nailed it, I have very high hopes for this game, I hope there are tons of magic abilities and hopefully some weapons imbued with magical properties, Flame Whip comes to mind ;)
Keep it real or get beat down!

I think we all were reminiscent of Symphony of the Night, when I saw the damage popup numbers tho, I thought of Legend of Dragoon; I remember it shocked me to see such low numbers when I was so used to big flashy devastating attacks in different titles. Other than that, Breath of Fire and Metroid came to mind, but it has a distinct and unique touch which is more than welcome and, honestly, what I look forward to. (:
